Friends & Enemies

“But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

(‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:13‬)

We are bought by the blood of Christ--gathered into His love. We are adopted into His family. We are brothers and sisters of Christ.

“He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”

(‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:5‬ )

The Church is meant to be a family. We may not all agree on every subject, but we are deciding to follow Him alongside each other.

Are we letting feelings and thoughts get in the way of unity with our brothers and sisters?

Without Christ, there is nothing we share. The only bond that ties us in unity is Christ. None of us were baptized in the name of man; we were baptized in the spirit of God. That spirit unites us and shows us the love we should have for each other.

Do we realize the Spirit inside of us is a spirit of unity?

“Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, that there be no divisions among you, and that you be united with the same understanding and the same conviction.”

(‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:10‬)

The spirit of love inside of us should pour out into the world-- those who are not yet part of the family. Even our enemies should know the love of God because of His spirit inside of us.

Are we loving our enemies? Are we praying for them? Are we inviting them into the united family of God?
